Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2, 2026
Koticha ("the app") is built by PsyByte Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information you put into the app. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, because the short answer is simple: Koticha does not collect, transmit, or sell your data. Everything you enter stays on your phone.
The short version
- Koticha does not require an account, sign-in, or email address.
- Koticha requests no internet/network permission and does not send data anywhere.
- Class, student, subject, and score records are stored only in a local database on your device.
- We do not run analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind inside the app.
- Uninstalling the app removes all of its stored data from your device.
What information the app stores
In the course of normal use, Koticha stores the following information locally on your device, inside the app's private storage area:
- Class records- class names you create (for example, "Standard 4A").
- Student records - the roll number, full name, and sex you enter for each learner in a class.
- Subject records - subjects you add to a class, and their maximum score.
- Score records - the marks you enter per student, subject, and term.
- Optional school profile - if you choose to fill it in, your school name, district, and your own name, used only to label exported files.
None of this information is visible to us, to PsyByte Labs, or to any third party. We have no server that the app communicates with, so there is nothing for us to see.
Exported files
When you export a performance sheet, Koticha writes a file (Excel or PDF) to your device's Downloads folder. That file is yours - it is created and stored entirely on your device. If you choose to share it (for example, over WhatsApp or email), that sharing happens through the app or service you select, and is governed by that service's own privacy practices, not ours.
Permissions
Koticha requests only the storage permission needed to save exported report files to your device. It does not request internet access, location, contacts, camera, or microphone permissions.
Children's information
Koticha is a tool used by teachers to record their students' academic scores. Student names, roll numbers, and marks entered into the app are stored locally on the teacher's own device and are never transmitted to us. If your school has its own policies on handling learner records on personal devices, those continue to apply - Koticha does not change how that data is protected on your device.
Future features
A future version of Koticha may introduce optional backup and restore functionality, allowing you to export your entire database to a file you control, or optional cloud sync. If we add any feature that transmits data off your device, we will update this policy before that feature is available, and any such feature will be opt-in.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
